Do migrants in Europe age well?

A mixed methods and intervention study in four countries.

The MIG-AGE project starts from this premises to explore with mixed-method research the experience of European aging migrant people. The experience of two different groups will be considered through a comparative approach: the labor migrants who moved from Italy and Turkey to the Netherlands and Germany and international retirement migrants from Germany and the Netherlands who move temporarily or permanently after they retire to Italy or Turkey.

The Team

The MIG-AGE project is a collaborative endeavor that unites scholars from Bamberg University, Groningen University, KoƧ University, and Genova University, creating a dynamic research team with a shared commitment to unraveling the complexities of aging within the context of migration.

The MIG-AGE project transcends disciplinary boundaries, leveraging the collective knowledge of the team to shed light on the multifaceted aspects of aging in the context of migration. The cohesive efforts of these scholars not only enrich the field but also pave the way for a more comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by aging migrants in today's complex socio-cultural landscape.
